2017 is already lookin’ good, but 2016 truly was quite the year for Odds Fish!
As we embark on another year of rockin’ and rollin’ (and whatnot), Odds Fish would like to take some time to reflect on 2016, and acknowledge just what a great year it was for our band; because it truly was a great year for us. A lot happened for us to be grateful for.
Throughout 2016, Odds Fish was very lucky. We played great venues, met wonderful people, did some recording, got played on the radio, and experienced so many other wonderful things. Here are some highlights from 2016:
-January 25th- Odds Fish gets interviewed and plays acoustic jams on LCC Radio:
-January 29th- Odds Fish plays our very first public show (at The Avenue Cafe in Lansing, MI, with Ford Theater Reunion and more!) and it goes super well for us!

-May 8th- Odds Fish plays The Robin Theatre in Lansing, MI with Malcolm Tent and Jay Leitz thanks to a lead from Jory Stultz. Thanks Jory!
-May 15th- Odds Fish plays a female empowerment show with all female fronted acts at The Avenue Cafe. We also meet the electro-pop duo Lillie Lemon, and our lives change forever!
-May 28th- Odds Fish has our regional debut in Chicago, IL at The Debonair Social Club. Chicago is alive and magical, and we love it! We meet Pidgin, and we love them too!
-June 2nd- Meagan’s Birthday Show at The Avenue Cafe in Lansing, MI. Many people buy Meagan drinks, and it is a good, good time.
-June 24th- Odds Fish teams up with rockin’ cover band, and side project of Nick and Will, The Knock Offs, to rock White’s Bar in Saginaw, MI.
-July 9th- Odds Fish plays The Loft in Lansing, MI for the first time as part of the GTS Summer Breakout Concert Series
-July 10th- Odds Fish plays another show at our beloved Avenue – the first with our (now) friend, Sierra Denae, and the incredible touring band, War Radio.
-July 26th- Odds Fish gets to play an awesome show with Rookie of the Year after being contacted directly by the tour manager. Ryan, of Rookie of the Year, turns out to be a stellar dude AND puts on a beautiful, acoustic set.
-August 3rd- Odds Fish pairs our music with wine:
-August 4th- Odds Fish gets played on Neue Regel Radio for the first time!
-August 11th- Odds Fish plays our first show with TWO of our favorites and friends: Mr Denton on Doomsday and Conspicuous Bystanders. At The Avenue Cafe, of course!
-August 19th- Odds Fish performs in the Rock the Mic Concert Series at The Loft in Lansing, MI
-August 21st- Another great show at The Avenue Cafe (This one with Red Legs, Lipstick Jodi, and Trapdoor Social) and the debut of our new song “Walls”
-August 26th- Odds Fish plays Ypsilanti for the first time thanks to our buddies, Luxury Flux! The cops get called, faces get rocked, and an interesting time is had by all!
-September 24th- Odds Fish performs as part of “GRRRLS Just Wanna Have Fun,” a fundraiser and product drive for the incredible charity: Helping Women Period
-October 6th- Sinhaven puts us on a rockin’ bill at The Loft in Lansing, MI
-October 22nd- Odds Fish plays the “Halloween Art Fix” at The Avenue Cafe
-November 17th- Odds Fish plays Hamtramck, MI for the first time (in a show at The New Dodge Lounge with Luxury Flux, The Free Bleeders, Scary Women, and Bad Idols)
-November 23- Odds Fish plays a fun show with Mr Denton on Doomsday at Mac’s Bar in Lansing, MI and debuts a new song: “Unofficial Channels”
-December 9th- Our last show at The Avenue Cafe for the year (with The Aimcriers, E.Z. Duhzit and the Soul Jar, The Stick Arounds, and Swamp Hawk)
Odds Fish is selected to participate in the 2017 Q106 Homegrown Throwdown
-December 15th- Our last show at Mac’s Bar for the year (with Shapes and Colors and Stories Untold headlining)
-December 30th- The final show of 2016 for Odds Fish! (With Conspicuous Bystanders, Hut Two Hike, and Mr Denton on Doomsday at The Loft in Lansing, MI)
As you can see, for Odds Fish, 2016 was pretty darn cool. But here’s hoping that 2017 is even cooler! Thanks for your support so far! Stay tuned for more, and of course, as always…
